Fantastic Futures. On 16 November the National Library in Oslo is hosting a day-seminar on Frankenstein to celebrate the novel’s 200th anniversary. You can find the details (in Norwegian) here.
Frankenreads. The Keats-Shelley Association of America is co-ordinating an international celebration of the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein on Halloween (31 October 2018). As a part of Norway’s annual series of “Research Days” (Forskningsdagene), which this year focuses on the topic of “growing up” (oppvekst), members of this project have recorded a sequence of short videos on this theme in Mary Shelley’s novel and some of its adaptations. You can find those videos in the Education, Knowledge and Science section of this website.
There will also be a special screening of The Bride of Frankenstein as a part of Dave’s Music and Movie Nights.
Seminar on “Frankenstein and Science”
Øystein Vidnes, the translator of Frankenstein into Norwegian, will be holding a presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session, on the topic of “Frankenstein in Scandinavia / Scandinavia in Frankenstein” (in Norwegian) at Volda University College at 2pm on Friday 16 March.
